CA SB1125

Authorizes reimbursement for a maximum of 2 visits on the same day at a single location when a patient suffers illness or injury after the first visit, or when combining medical visits with mental health or dental visits.

Allows FQHCs and RHCs that currently bundle medical and mental health visits into a single visit to apply for rate adjustments and bill these services separately after department approval.

Adds licensed acupuncturists to the list of providers whose services are reimbursable on a per-visit basis at FQHCs and RHCs.

Requires the Department of Health Care Services to submit a state plan amendment to federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services by January 1, 2020, reflecting these changes.

Implementation is contingent upon annual Budget Act appropriation and availability of federal financial participation.
