Deletes the requirement for an additional one-year prison term for prior separate prison terms or county jail felony terms that do not qualify as violent felonies under Penal Code Section 667.5.

Retains the three-year additional sentence for each prior separate prison term when the current offense is a violent felony as defined in subdivision (c).

Makes technical, nonsubstantive changes to clarify language in the violent felony definitions and enhancement provisions.

Requires the one-year enhancement to be charged, admitted, or found true in the action for the new offense before it can be imposed.
