Establishes the County of Riverside school metal detector pilot program authorizing the Riverside County Office of Education to accept donations from private individuals and entities to assist public schools in purchasing metal detectors.

Allows public schools located in Riverside County to apply for grants to purchase metal detectors, with the county office reviewing applications and awarding grants based on criteria it establishes.

Appropriates $100,000 from the General Fund to the Riverside County Office of Education if private donations reach $900,000 to support metal detector purchases for Riverside County public schools.

Requires the State Department of Education to review the pilot program's implementation within two years and, if successful, submit a recommendation to the Legislature to expand the program to other counties.

Repeals the pilot program six years after the effective date and declares the bill an urgency statute effective immediately.
