Insurance Commissioner must electronically share property owner information with homeowners' insurers when a disaster is declared and the owner cannot identify their insurer.

Insurers must provide the Commissioner with an email address to receive these electronic transmissions.

Insurers must respond within 90 days to confirm whether they issued a policy on the disaster-area property that was in force when the disaster occurred.

Insurer responses are provided free of charge and do not constitute acknowledgment of a claim or admission of coverage.

Commissioner, insurers, and their employees are protected from liability for statements made or conduct performed in good faith under these provisions.
