CA SB793

Authorizes Peninsula Health Care District, Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District, and Santa Clara Valley Open-Space Authority to use design-build contracting for construction projects until January 1, 2023.

Exempts Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District and Santa Clara Valley Open-Space Authority from the $1,000,000 minimum project requirement for design-build contracts.

Expands best value construction contracting authority to County of San Mateo for projects over $1,000,000, joining Alameda, Los Angeles, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, Solano, and Yuba counties.

Allows counties to use best value contracting for annual contracts up to $3,000,000 (adjusted annually for inflation) for repair, remodeling, or repetitive work, renewable for two additional terms not exceeding $6,000,000 total.

Declares special circumstances exist for Peninsula Health Care District, Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District, Santa Clara Valley Open-Space Authority, and County of San Mateo that necessitate the statute.
