CA SB802

Directs the Office of Planning and Research to establish an Emerging Vehicle Advisory Study Group by April 1, 2018, to review policies on autonomous vehicles and shared-use vehicles.

Requires the study group to meet at least quarterly and include one member each from the State Air Resources Board, Office of Planning and Research, Department of Motor Vehicles, and State Energy Resources Conservation and Development Commission, appointed by the Governor.

Includes three members appointed by the Senate Committee on Rules and three members appointed by the Speaker of the Assembly, representing autonomous vehicle manufacturers, public health/clean air organizations, technology industry, commercial drivers' unions, and insurance companies.

Mandates the study group provide recommendations to the Legislature by April 1, 2019, on policies and incentives for electrification, hybridization, traffic congestion reduction, and removal of state barriers to adoption of new vehicle types.
