Requires the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation to submit an annual report to the Legislature by October 1 each year on suicide prevention and response efforts among inmates

Report must include progress on completing suicide risk evaluations and 72-hour treatment plans, staff training on suicide prevention, and implementation of special master recommendations

Report must describe department initiatives to reduce suicide risk factors and efforts to expand notification processes for suicide attempts with inmate consent

Report must be submitted to the Legislature pursuant to Government Code Section 9795 and posted on the department's website in an easily accessible format

Became effective September 26, 2018
