The Eagle Staff is traditionally carried by Native American military veterans and features eagle feathers, which are federally protected and represent the highest honor a tribe can bestow on its people.

Legislature renews commitment to cooperate with tribes and Native American organizations to promote cultural education about the significance and symbolism of the Eagle Staff.

State of California commits to inclusiveness for all Native Americans and encourages all state government departments to incorporate Eagle Staff traditions and principles into their policies and practices.
