Recognizes 2018 as the 40th anniversary of the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area, established by Congress in 1978 and managed by the National Park Service in partnership with state and local governments.

Acknowledges the Santa Monica Mountains Fund, created 30 years ago by the Santa Monica Mountains Parklands Association to support wildlife preservation, mountain lion protection, educational programs, and recreational opportunities in the recreation area.

Honors the collaborative efforts of local community members and public agencies who worked to preserve open-space and recreational lands in the Santa Monica Mountains and protect them from uncontrolled development.

Urges all involved public agencies and the local community to continue collaborative management of the recreation area for public use and enjoyment.

Directs the Secretary of the Senate to transmit copies of the resolution to the author for appropriate distribution.
