Recognizes August 26, 2018, as Women's Equality Day to commemorate the ratification of the Nineteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution on August 26, 1920, which secured women's right to vote.

Acknowledges the historical struggle for women's rights beginning with the first women's rights convention on July 19, 1848, and subsequent major legislative achievements including the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972.

Identifies persistent gender inequality in California including wage gaps between men and women, barriers to employment and education, lack of affordable child care and housing, and disproportionate representation in low-wage jobs.

Recognizes women's critical economic contributions to California, comprising almost one-half of the state workforce and serving as primary income earners in many households.

Directs the Secretary of the Senate to transmit copies of the resolution to the author for appropriate distribution.
