AB 112 Summary

• Corrects annual licensing fees for alcoholic beverage manufacturers and wholesalers, with fee increases effective October 1, 2019.

• Eliminates the requirement for the Office of Digital Innovation to dispose of records upon engagement completion and requires annual reporting to include a summary of office activities.

• Modifies the Budget Deficit Savings Account to serve as a supplementary savings account for mitigating budget deficits and authorizes the Legislature to transfer funds into or out of the account.

• Clarifies that employers may review employee employment authorization consistent with federal law, including upon discovering unauthorized work status, while restricting unnecessary reverification that could discriminate against lawfully authorized employees.

• Appropriates $3,499,000 to the Office of the Inspector General for independent audits of the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation and oversight of inmate misconduct investigations and grievances.
