Extends two existing exemptions from the California Consumer Privacy Act until January 1, 2022, previously set to expire January 1, 2021.

Exempts personal information collected about job applicants, employees, owners, directors, officers, medical staff members, and contractors when used solely within the context of their employment or business relationship.

Exempts personal information from written or verbal communications between a business and a consumer acting in a business capacity when occurring solely in the context of due diligence or providing/receiving products or services between organizations.

Operation of the bill is contingent upon voters not approving a ballot proposition that amends Section 1798.145 at the November 3, 2020 statewide general election.
