Municipalities with police or sheriff's departments must post on their internet websites by February 1 each year how much they spent on law enforcement use of force settlements and judgments during the previous year, broken down by individual settlement or judgment.

Municipalities must post information about any bonds used to finance settlements or judgments, including bond amount, maturity time, interest and fees paid, and total future cost.

Municipalities must post the amount of settlements or judgments paid by insurance, broken down individually, and the total premiums paid for insurance against use of force settlements or judgments.

The Transportation Agency must post the same information annually regarding use of force settlements and judgments against the Department of the California Highway Patrol.

The bill imposes a state-mandated local program; if the Commission on State Mandates determines costs are mandated by the state, reimbursement shall be made pursuant to existing statutory procedures.
