State Department of Education must annually compile computer science education data starting from the 2019–20 school year and post a standalone report on its internet website until data is incorporated into the state's existing or successor statewide data system.

Required data includes total number of computer science courses with pupil enrollment, pupil enrollment numbers disaggregated by gender, race/ethnicity, special education status, English language learner status, free/reduced-price meal eligibility, geographic status, and grade level.

Data must also include the number of computer science teachers at each school disaggregated by credential/authorization, gender, and highest postsecondary degree awarded.

Computer science education data shall be compiled from data the department already receives from local educational agencies through existing reporting mechanisms.

When the state implements a successor statewide data system for elementary and secondary education enrollment and achievement data, the department must incorporate the computer science education data into that system.
