Allows approved nursing programs to request waivers from Board of Registered Nursing education consultants to revise clinical experience requirements during state of emergency declarations through the end of the 2020-21 academic year

Permits reduction of required direct patient care hours to 50 percent in geriatrics and medical-surgical nursing and 25 percent in mental health, obstetrics, and pediatrics if alternative clinical placements within 25 miles are unavailable

Authorizes use of clinical settings and preceptorships without board approval, written agreements, or specified written policies during emergencies when normal facilities are unavailable

Allows up to 25 percent of direct patient care hours in geriatrics and medical-surgical to be completed via telehealth and permits theory instruction to precede clinical practice when necessary

Requires Board of Registered Nursing executive officer to develop a uniform method for evaluating and approving requests within 30 days, with requests deemed approved if not addressed within seven business days
