Establish the Computer Science Preparing Educators Grant Program to award competitive grants to postsecondary educational institutions for developing preservice credential programs and expanding programs for teachers seeking a supplementary authorization in computer science.

Grant funds may be used to integrate or update computer science curriculum into multiple subject teacher preparation programs, or create and expand programs to meet supplementary authorization requirements in computer science.

Commission shall prioritize grant proposals for current commission-approved multiple subject credentialing programs and programs that fulfill computer science supplementary authorization course requirements, including pilot programs and those enhancing equity for underrepresented minority groups.

Grantee institutions must provide program and outcome data to the commission for at least three years after receiving a grant, including information on program design, number of graduates, credentials earned, and time to degree completion.

Implementation is contingent upon appropriation of funds through the annual Budget Act or other statute.
