Extends exemption from mandatory rest period requirements for safety-sensitive employees at petroleum facilities until January 1, 2026 (previously set to expire January 1, 2021)

Exemption applies only to employees required to carry communication devices and respond to emergencies, or remain on premises to monitor and respond to emergencies

Requires employers to authorize another rest period reasonably promptly if an employee's rest period is interrupted by an emergency, or pay one hour of regular wages if a rest period cannot be provided

Exemption only applies to employees covered by collective bargaining agreements that specify wages, hours, working conditions, rest periods, arbitration procedures, and minimum hourly rates of at least 30 percent above state minimum wage

Exemption applies only to employees subject to Industrial Welfare Commission Wage Order No. 1 and does not affect cases filed before the effective date
