Increases the monthly maintenance amount for personal and incidental needs for Medi-Cal patients in medical institutions, nursing facilities, or Programs of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly from $35 to $80 per month.

Requires the State Department of Health Care Services to annually adjust the $80 monthly maintenance amount by the same percentage as the Consumer Price Index.

Maintains the department's authority to increase the amount by regulation if necessitated by additional increases in costs of personal and incidental needs.

Makes various technical corrections to existing code language, including updated pronoun usage and clarifications to regulatory language regarding maintenance needs for institutionalized individuals and their families.
