State Air Resources Board must submit a report to the Legislature by January 1, 2022 summarizing scientific information on potential adverse health effects from natural gas use in buildings.

Report must address impacts on vulnerable populations including individuals with asthma, respiratory conditions, elderly persons, infants, and children, with consideration of environmental justice concerns.

Report must identify natural gas indoor air pollutant sources with significant adverse health impacts and analyze indoor air emissions, exposures, and mitigation options for schools, workplaces, homes, and other indoor locations.

State Air Resources Board must submit draft report for external scientific peer review by an entity such as Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory or University of California before finalizing the report.

Final report must be presented at a public meeting and include State Air Resources Board's response to any disagreements with peer review findings; this reporting requirement repeals January 1, 2026.
