Expands contract translation requirements to include Spanish, Chinese, Tagalog, Vietnamese, and Korean language negotiations in consumer transactions including consumer credit sales, leases, and loans.

Requires translations be delivered to any other person who will be signing the contract or agreement, in addition to the primary contracting party.

Applies to contracts subject to consumer protection laws, loans for personal/household purposes, residential leases exceeding one month, and legal services contracts.

Exempts from translation requirements when the non-English speaking party uses their own interpreter who is fluent in both English and the negotiated language and is not employed by the business.

Allows translations to retain untranslated elements such as names, addresses, brand names, numerals, and dollar amounts, with English-language contract terms controlling in case of disputes.
