Repeals provisions enacted January 1, 2020 that prohibited the Dental Board of California from accepting new applications for foreign dental school approval.

Restores the board's authority to approve foreign dental schools using the same standards and procedures that existed prior to January 1, 2020, based on equivalency to accredited U.S. institutions.

Eliminates the requirement that foreign dental schools complete accreditation with the Commission on Dental Accreditation of the American Dental Association (CODA) or comparable body.

Removes the January 1, 2024 deadline by which previously approved foreign dental schools had to obtain CODA accreditation to remain approved in California.

Maintains the board's ability to contract with consultants, establish technical advisory groups for evaluations, charge registration and renewal fees, and conduct periodic surveys of approved schools.
