• Amends Section 104.6 of the Streets and Highways Code to clarify that "safety ordinances" include ordinances requiring property owners to abate weeds.

• Requires the Department of Transportation to comply with weed abatement notices issued by city or county fire departments within 60 days of receiving the notice.

• Entitles cities or counties to reimbursement for weed abatement costs incurred when the Department fails to comply within 60 days, if the city or county makes findings at a public hearing that the failure creates significant fire risk.
