Proclaims February 20, 2020 (the third Thursday in February) as Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day in California.

Recognizes that women remain underrepresented in engineering education and workforce, comprising only about one-fifth of bachelor's degrees and one-quarter of master's degrees and doctorates in engineering.

Notes that women in STEM fields earn less than male counterparts and girls are significantly underrepresented in expectations for information and computer technology careers (less than 1 in 200 girls versus 1 in 20 boys).

Acknowledges California's commitment to gender equality and position as a world leader in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics fields.

Directs the Chief Clerk of the Assembly to transmit copies of the resolution to the author for distribution.
