Recognizes February 21, 2020, as National Caregivers Day, observed annually on the third Friday in February.

Acknowledges that an estimated 41 million family caregivers in the United States provide 34 billion hours of care valued at approximately $470 billion annually.

Notes that 4.45 million caregivers in California provided over 4.1 billion hours of care with an estimated economic value of $57.7 billion in 2017.

Highlights that caregiving falls disproportionately on women, with 59 percent of California caregivers being female, and that 60 percent of female caregivers report high levels of physical strain.

Reaffirms the Legislature's support for caregivers and encourages all Californians to recognize those who provide essential care to family, friends, and neighbors.
