Recognizes March 1, 2020, and each March 1 thereafter, as Yu Gwan-sun Day in California to honor the anniversary of the March 1st Movement of Korean independence.

Acknowledges Yu Gwan-sun as an organizer of the peaceful March 1st Movement demonstrations against Japanese colonial rule of Korea from March 1 to April 11, 1919.

Notes that approximately 2,000,000 Koreans participated in more than 1,500 demonstrations during the independence movement, which led to the creation of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea.

Recognizes California's largest Korean American population in the nation and celebrates their contributions to the state's diversity and strength.

Directs the Chief Clerk of the Assembly to transmit copies of the resolution to the author for appropriate distribution.
