Adds human trafficking, as defined in subdivision (b) or (c) of Section 236.1, to the list of crimes classified as violent felonies under Penal Code Section 667.5.

Imposes an additional three-year consecutive prison term for each prior separate prison term served for a violent felony conviction, making this applicable to human trafficking convictions.

Updates grammatical language throughout Section 667.5, changing "where" to "if" and making other minor statutory corrections.

Includes legislative findings that the specified crimes merit special consideration when imposing sentences to display society's condemnation for extraordinary crimes of violence against the person.

Exempts the state from reimbursement requirements under Article XIII B of the California Constitution because the costs stem from changing the penalty for an existing crime.
