Exempts glass packages or packaging components from the 100 parts per million by weight limit on regulated metals (lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium) if they contain recycled material, provided the total regulated metal concentration does not exceed 200 parts per million by weight.

The exemption applies only when recycled material addition would cause the package to exceed the standard 100 parts per million threshold, but does not exceed 200 parts per million.

The exemption for recycled glass packaging expires and is repealed on January 1, 2024.

After the repeal date, the standard 100 parts per million limit on regulated metals in packaging components becomes operative and applies without exception for recycled glass.
