CA SB527

Adds industrial hemp cultivated under Division 24 of the Food and Agricultural Code to the definition of "agricultural commodity" under the Williamson Act.

Allows county and city rules governing agricultural preserves to designate commercial cannabis cultivation under the Medicinal and Adult-Use Cannabis Regulation and Safety Act as a compatible use on both contracted and noncontracted lands within agricultural preserves.

Clarifies that the cannabis provision is declaratory of existing law and does not represent a change to current statute.

Requires rules related to compatible uses to be consistent with Section 51238.1 provisions and applied uniformly throughout agricultural preserves.
