CA SB601

Authorizes any state agency that issues business licenses to establish a process for fee reduction or waiver for persons or businesses displaced or experiencing economic hardship from an emergency.

Defines "emergency" as an emergency under Government Code Section 8558 or a declared federal emergency.

Requires any fee waiver process to specify the methodology for determining displacement or economic hardship, the application procedure, and a one-year deadline from the emergency proclamation or declaration.

Applies to fees for obtaining a license, renewing or activating a license, or replacing a physical license for display.
