Prohibits property owners, landlords, and common interest development associations from enforcing restrictions that ban the display of religious items on entry doors or entry door frames of dwellings.

Allows restrictions on religious items only if they threaten public health or safety, hinder door operation, violate laws, contain obscene or illegal content, or exceed 36 by 12 square inches in total size.

Defines "religious item" as an item displayed because of sincerely held religious beliefs and applies to associations, boards, members, landlords, and sublessors.

Permits associations to require temporary removal of religious items during maintenance, repair, or replacement of entry doors, with individual notice required to the member.

Became effective July 30, 2019.
