CA SB723

Adds knowledge requirement to felony firearm possession prohibition for persons with outstanding warrants, clarifying the crime occurs only when the person has knowledge of the outstanding warrant for a felony or specified misdemeanor.

Adds similar knowledge requirement to misdemeanor firearm possession prohibition, making it a public offense punishable by up to one year in county jail or state prison, a fine up to $1,000, or both, for persons with outstanding misdemeanor warrants who knowingly possess firearms.

Repeals Section 29851 of the Penal Code.
