Requires certificated and classified school employees, and academic and classified community college employees who exhaust sick leave and remain absent due to illness or accident for an additional 5 months to receive their full salary during those 5 months, instead of the previous differential pay options.

Repeals Education Code Sections 44983 and 87786, which previously allowed alternative compensation methods for employees absent due to illness or accident.

Applies the full salary requirement to both school district and community college district employees in the same manner, creating uniform treatment across education sectors.

Makes conforming changes to sections governing industrial accident and illness leave, parental leave provisions, and related compensation schedules for substitute and temporary employees.

Maintains existing provisions for the first 10 days of sick leave and parental leave up to 12 workweeks, while clarifying that employees qualify for full salary protections after exhausting all other available paid leave.
