Expands exemptions from California's "ABC test" for employee classification to include geologists, geophysicists, land surveyors, contractors, engineers, and pest control operators when performing work on forested landscapes.

Removes previous exemptions for timber operators holding Department of Forestry and Fire Protection licenses and registered professional foresters.

Allows these licensed professionals working on forested landscapes to be classified as independent contractors under the Borello test instead of the stricter ABC test.

Applies retroactively to existing claims and actions to the maximum extent permitted by law.
