Senate Resolution 68 recognizes January 25, 2020, as the beginning of the Lunar New Year, which is celebrated by Asian and Pacific Islander communities worldwide and throughout California.

Acknowledges that California is home to over 5,000,000 Asian and Pacific Islander Americans from multiple ethnic backgrounds, with approximately 2,500,000 Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese residents.

Celebrates the Year of the Rat in 2020 as a time for communities to renew family ties and start the new year with a clean slate.

Recognizes the Asian and Pacific Islander American community's contributions to California's social, cultural, civic, economic, and academic success.

Directs the Secretary of the Senate to transmit copies of the resolution to the author for distribution.
