Designates Thursday, January 30, 2020, as Fred Korematsu Day of Civil Liberties and the Constitution in California

Commemorates Fred Korematsu's resistance to Executive Order No. 9066, which forced over 100,000 Japanese American citizens and permanent residents from the West Coast during World War II

Recognizes Korematsu's 1983 legal victory overturning his 1944 wrongful conviction through a writ of error coram nobis, which exposed government suppression of evidence and contributed to passage of the Civil Liberties Act of 1988

Encourages public schools and educational institutions to conduct exercises on this date remembering Korematsu's life and the importance of preserving civil liberties, even during times of crisis

Notes Korematsu's receipt of the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1998 and his legacy as a civil rights advocate until his death in 2005
