Expands the definition of exempt employment under California's unemployment insurance code to include direct sales salespersons who conduct demonstrations and sales in the buyer's business, in addition to the buyer's home.

Specifies that buses, vans, or trucks used to sell tools and equipment for motorized vehicle repair and maintenance do not qualify as retail or wholesale establishments for purposes of the unemployment insurance exemption.

Maintains existing conditions for the exemption: individual must be licensed under specified provisions, remuneration must be directly related to sales or output rather than hours worked, and services must be performed under a written contract stating the individual is not an employee for state tax purposes.
