AB 1050 Summary

• Requires Medi-Cal enrollment applications to include a statement that applicants agree to receive appointment reminders or outreach efforts via Free to End User text messaging at no more than a 6th grade reading level, unless they opt out.

• Prohibits the Director of Health Care Services from taking actions that materially increase the administrative burden or cost of dispensing 340B discount drugs by federally qualified health centers and rural health clinics, including changes that adversely impact contract pharmacy arrangements.

• Requires the Director to prepare and publish a detailed report on the department's website before taking any action that materially impacts the 340B drug program, with distribution to the Assembly Committee on Health and Senate Committee on Health.
