Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation must provide the name, known aliases, birth date, social security number, and booking and expected release dates of current inmates to the Employment Development Department monthly and upon request.

Employment Development Department Director must verify that unemployment compensation claimants are not currently incarcerated in state prisons using the inmate information provided by corrections department.

Employment Development Department must complete system programming and automation upgrades to electronically monitor inmate data for fraud prevention by September 1, 2023.

Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation may continue providing social security numbers of current or former inmates to Employment Development Department and California Workforce Development Board for labor market tracking purposes.

Bill takes effect immediately as an urgency statute with no state reimbursement required for local agencies or school districts.
