Extends statute of limitations for felony computer crimes under Penal Code Section 502 from 3 years after commission to 3 years after discovery of the offense or when it reasonably could have been discovered

Requires that a criminal complaint be filed no more than 6 years after the commission of the offense, establishing an outer deadline

Applies retroactively to crimes committed on or after January 1, 2022, and to crimes where the previous statute of limitations had not expired by January 1, 2022

Approved by Governor on September 22, 2021, and filed with Secretary of State on the same date
