Requires law enforcement agencies that authorize peace officers to carry electroshock devices (tasers, stun guns, or similar weapons) to prohibit carrying them on the same side of the body as the officer's primary firearm.

Defines electroshock devices as weapons designed to temporarily incapacitate through electric shock, held and operated similarly to a pistol with a finger trigger.

Applies to any state or local law enforcement agency that employs peace officers as defined in California Penal Code Chapter 4.5.

Establishes that if the Commission on State Mandates determines this bill creates state-mandated costs, reimbursement shall be made pursuant to Government Code Part 7 (commencing with Section 17500).
