Directs the Chancellor's Office of the California Community Colleges to develop a model curriculum for a certification program training providers of care for individuals with developmental disabilities

Model curriculum designed for implementation at community college campuses with sufficient student interest and qualified faculty to sustain the program

Requires the chancellor's office to consult with individuals and organizations having expertise in developmental disability care and practitioner training when developing the curriculum

Establishes legislative findings that California needs well-trained care providers for individuals with developmental disabilities and that such work requires specialized skills

Intends to create a career pathway within the California Community Colleges system for persons seeking to enter the developmental disability care profession
