Requires the Commission on Health and Safety and Workers' Compensation to submit a study to the Legislature by January 1, 2023, examining delays and access to care issues in medical provider networks.

Study must compare injury claims where workers were treated by medical provider networks versus independent providers, examining time between injury and initial treatment, frequency and causes of post-treatment delays, and distance between injured workers and treating providers.

Report shall be submitted in compliance with Government Code Section 9795.

Section 77.9 remains in effect only until January 1, 2025, and is repealed as of that date.
