Requires prosecuting attorneys to state on the record the estimated cost of incarceration or supervision for any proposed sentence during sentencing proceedings.

Mandates county probation departments to include estimated costs of incarceration or supervision in presentence reports and provide this information to the court and defendant before sentencing.

Requires courts to state on the record the estimated cost of the imposed sentence and any consideration given to cost when imposing the sentence.

Directs the Legislative Analyst's Office to annually compile average annual costs of incarceration and postcustody supervision for Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation inmates and make this information available to prosecutors, probation officers, and the public by July 1, 2022.

Directs the Board of State and Community Corrections to annually compile average annual costs of incarceration and supervision for county sheriffs or probation departments and make this information available to prosecutors, probation officers, and the public by July 1, 2022.
