Director of GO-Biz appoints a Supply Chain Senior Advisor with expertise in commerce, trade, transportation, and supply chain management to serve at the director's pleasure.

Senior Advisor serves as principal advocate for business and industry interests related to supply chain development and operation and advises the director on legislation, regulations, and issues affecting California's supply chain.

Senior Advisor may establish and convene one or more advisory groups consisting of stakeholders from supply chain sectors including seaports, airports, ports of entry, air carriers, motor carriers, rail carriers, warehousing, agriculture, manufacturing, and retailers.

Senior Advisor must represent business interests before other state agencies, collaborate with agencies supporting supply chains (Transportation Agency, Department of Transportation, Department of General Services, Department of Food and Agriculture, State Air Resources Board), and consult with logistics and supply chain management experts.

State agencies must furnish public records and information to the Senior Advisor deemed necessary to carry out the advisor's duties and functions.
