AB 169 Summary

• Amends the Budget Act of 2021 to reallocate $2.5 million to Coachella Valley Mountains Conservancy (changed from Baldwin Hills Conservancy) for climate resilience, wildfire prevention, community access, and natural resource protection, available through June 30, 2024.

• Reappropriates balances from prior-year Secretary of State appropriations (Budget Acts of 2018 and 2019) and makes them available for encumbrance or expenditure until December 31, 2024.

• Modifies Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training funding ($12.242 million) to allow transfers between schedules with Department of Finance approval to support implementation of Chapter 409 of the Statutes of 2021 (Senate Bill 2).

• Appropriates funds across multiple state agencies for workforce development, transportation, infrastructure, housing, parks, arts, public safety, and other legislative priorities, including $24.75 million to the California Workforce Investment Board and various local projects statewide.

• Declares the bill to be a Budget Bill taking effect immediately under California Constitution Article IV, Section 12(e).
