Establishes the California Indian Education Act and encourages school districts, county offices of education, and charter schools to form California Indian Education Task Forces with local or historically-located California Indian tribes.

Requires task forces to develop accurate curriculum about tribal history, culture, and government; evaluate instructional materials depicting Native Americans; adopt developed curriculum; and identify strategies to close achievement gaps between Indian and non-Indian pupils.

Mandates California Indian Education Task Forces submit annual reports to the Department of Education within one year of formation and each year thereafter detailing progress on the four specified work areas.

Requires the Department of Education to submit annual reports to the Senate Education Committee and Assembly Committee on Education within one year of receiving task force reports, addressing progress in narrowing achievement gaps and adoption of tribal curriculum.

Authorizes task forces to submit curricular materials to county offices of education or consortiums contracted to develop Native American studies model curriculum, which must consider these materials for inclusion.
