Courts must issue orders recalling, dismissing, or redesignating cannabis convictions by March 1, 2023, if prosecution did not challenge them by July 1, 2020.

Department of Justice must update the state summary criminal history database by July 1, 2023, to reflect all recalled, dismissed, sealed, or redesignated convictions.

Department of Justice must conduct an awareness campaign to inform individuals eligible for resentencing how to verify updates to their criminal history and may waive one-time fees for criminal history record requests.

Sealed convictions, arrests, or proceedings are deemed never to have occurred, and individuals may respond accordingly to inquiries about those events.

Department of Justice and Judicial Council must submit quarterly progress reports to the Legislature from March 1, 2023, through June 1, 2024, detailing case dispositions, prosecution challenges, and public awareness efforts.
