AB 180 Summary

• Amends the 2021-22 Budget Act by modifying numerous appropriation items across multiple state agencies and funds, including the General Fund and California Emergency Relief Fund

• Adds $1.95 billion from the California Emergency Relief Fund to the Department of Housing and Community Development for housing assistance for homeless and at-risk individuals, with availability through June 30, 2023

• Appropriates $1.5 billion for Department of Water Resources strategic reliability reserve for energy procurement to support grid reliability through June 30, 2027

• Allocates $545 million in emergency funding for water conservation, drought relief, and urban water sustainability programs including turf replacement and small supplier conservation assistance

• Establishes $250 million competitive grant program for regional K-16 education collaboratives and includes numerous appropriations for local government and state agency priorities totaling approximately $1.4 billion
