Amends Water Code Section 8201 to require local flood protection plans to include planning for climate change and rainwater and stormwater management as part of the urban level of flood protection strategy.

Requires local flood protection plans to include an update on the status of coordination with water suppliers regarding how flood water management can be used to bolster local water supplies.

Maintains existing requirements for local flood protection plans including identification of flood hazards, risk assessment of flood protection facilities, identification of flood corridors, and emergency response plans.

Approved by the Governor on August 26, 2022 and filed with the Secretary of State on the same date.
