Authorizes correctional officers employed by the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation to receive a confidential mental health evaluation once per calendar year to determine if they have emotional or mental conditions affecting their job duties.

Requires evaluations be conducted by psychiatrists or psychologists with at least five years of experience in diagnosing and treating mental health disorders, with at least three years of post-residency or post-doctorate experience.

Prohibits the mental health evaluation from being shared with the Department of Human Resources, the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, or supervisory personnel without the correctional officer's written consent.

Mandates the department pay all costs for evaluations and treatment, allows officers to choose their mental health provider, and provides bonuses for participating in evaluation and treatment (amount to be determined).

Prohibits the department from disciplining, discharging, or retaliating against officers for undergoing evaluation or receiving mental health treatment, and becomes operative only upon agreement between the employer and a recognized employee organization.
